Today begins my last week in Cambridge until the fall.  As much as I love the Northeast, and the Cambridge/Boston area in particular, I am incredibly ready to be home.  I’ve got two lovely babies that need their mommy…and a wonderful mommy that needs her eldest baby!  I finished my third out of four papers this weekend, and will be studying for my in-class exam all day today.  After that test, I have only ONE more paper to finish before I am finished with my first year in graduate school!  The time has flown.  I haven’t loved every minute, but I’ve learned a ton about myself and what I really want to be doing in life.  That’s what school is all about, anyway.

So, this past week I got and used two new products.  They are both from Benefit, and are both meant to give a finished made-up face a dewy, fresh finish.

Isn’t the packaging darling?  I plan on using it to spice up my bathroom storage in my new apartment.

The first product I put on is Benefit’s “that gal,” a makeup primer with a sheer pinky color to it.  I’ve tried a few primers in my time, and haven’t ever found one that I’m absolutely head-over-heels for.  This one is pretty good because it is not heavy, nor does it leave my face feeling dirty or too covered.  It has a lovely scent, too!  I’m still not sure if primers are a total must-have for me, but I do like this product.

The second product is called “girl meets pearl,” and is a face luminizer.  This sort of product is what celebrity makeup artists use to give their clients that young, glowy look that we all envy and crave.  I’ve never used a luminizer, so I cannot make an evaluative comparison.  I LOVE this product.  It also has a wonderful smell, and it gives my face the dewy glow I’ve been looking for!  I’m very excited that I have this to add to my makeup routine!

So, here is the finished product:

Like last Sunday, I decided to freshen up my nails’ ‘do’ with some new polish.  This week I used Essie’s “Ballet Slippers” as well as their “Chinchilly.”

I love “Chinchilly” because it’s a mixture between a light gray and my favorite purple color.  My color creation is definitely perfect for the weather we’ve been having up here – gray, chilly, and wet.  This is the best sort of weather for me!

Well, tonight I’ll finish up studying for my final and do some more packing.  I’ll try to get some pictures up of the chaos that I am living in for the next week.  I’ll be glad to be anywhere with a lot more cleanliness and organization!

Until next time…

Love in Benefit,

Jill
